Please note that advisory opinions issued by the Rhode Island Ethics Commission are strictly limited to the facts stated and relate only to the application of the Rhode Island Code of Ethics. The Commission offers no opinion on the effect that any other statute, ordinance, constitutional or charter provision or canons of professional ethics may have on your situation. Additionally, only the person receiving the advisory opinion may rely upon it for protection. Finally, for 1992-1994 opinions, only summaries of the decisions are presented.
